3. Sequence and procedure for applying for a visa for foreign nationals:

Step 1: Prepare the necessary documents according to the legal regulations.

Step 2: Submit the application directly to the office of the Immigration Department – Ministry of Public Security (address: 44-46 Tran Phu, Ba Dinh, Hanoi).

The officer in charge will examine the legal validity and content of the application:

  • If the application is complete and valid, it will be accepted and a receipt will be issued, with a date scheduled for the result.
  • If the application is incomplete or invalid, the officer in charge will guide the applicant to supplement the necessary documents.
  • Time to submit the application: from Monday to Saturday every week (except holidays).
  • Processing time according to current regulations is 05 working days from the date of submitting a valid application.

Step 3: Receive the result:

a) The applicant will present the receipt, ID card/citizen identification card or passport to the officer in charge for result checking. If the result is positive, the applicant will be asked to pay the visa fee and sign for receipt.
b) Time: from Monday to Friday every week (except holidays).

4. Visa fees for Vietnam:

a) Single-entry visa: 25 USD per visa.
b) Multiple-entry visa:

  • Valid for up to 3 months: 50 USD per visa.
  • Valid for more than 3 months up to 6 months: 95 USD per visa.
  • Valid for more than 6 months up to 12 months: 135 USD per visa.
  • Valid for more than 12 months up to 2 years: 145 USD per visa.
  • Valid for more than 2 years up to 5 years: 155 USD per visa.
  • Visa for children under 14 years old (regardless of validity): 25 USD per visa.

c) Transfer the value of the valid visa, and valid temporary residence permit from the old passport to the new passport or transfer the value of the valid visa, and valid temporary residence permit from the old departure card (already stamped: immigration check, immigration departure, temporary residence certification, temporary residence extension) to the new departure card: 5 USD/passport
